Bible Verse of the Day October 19, 2026: Luke 16:10

Bible Verse of the Day October 19, 2026: Luke 16:10

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” (Luke 16:10, KJV)

Meaning of the Verse

Jesus teaches that character is built and revealed in small, everyday choices. Big opportunities usually grow out of faithfulness with little things.

“Faithful in that which is least”

Small tasks, small amounts of money, small promises and small acts of honesty all count. God pays attention to what we do when no one is watching.

“Faithful also in much”

Trust grows step by step. People who handle small responsibilities well are prepared for larger ones.

“Unjust in the least is unjust also in much”

Dishonesty rarely stays small. Habits formed in minor matters shape who we become in major ones.

Context

Jesus spoke these words right after the parable of the shrewd steward, teaching that how we handle earthly resources reveals our readiness for true riches. The same chapter reminds us that we cannot serve both God and money (verse 13).

How to Apply It Today

  • Keep one small promise you have been neglecting.
  • Be honest in a small matter where a shortcut would be easy.
  • Give full effort to a task that no one will check.

Short Prayer

Lord, make me faithful in small things. Let my honesty and diligence reflect You, in public and in private. Amen.
